Welcome to NowPlaying. Your privacy is critically important to us. We have built this platform with the principle of storing as little personal data as absolutely necessary.

1. Information We Collect

When you connect your Spotify account using OAuth, we collect and store:

  • Your Spotify User ID
  • Your Email Address (provided by Spotify)
  • Your Public Display Name and Profile Picture URL
  • A secure OAuth Access Token and Refresh Token (to read your currently playing songs)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively to:

  • Create and securely authenticate your user session on the dashboard.
  • Fetch your currently playing Spotify track data so it can be displayed on your personal Widget endpoints.
  • Generate and save your aesthetic Widget configurations (Theme, Layout, Animation preferences).

We do not track your listening history, we do not share your data with third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data Visibility & Public Links

The primary purpose of NowPlaying is to provide a widget and programmatic API for streaming software. Please be aware that generating a widget link or API key makes your currently playing track data public to anyone who possesses that specific link or key. You are responsible for keeping your widget URLs and API keys secret if you do not want strangers querying your real-time listening habits.

4. Cookies & Server Logs

We use strictly essential cookies. These cookies are required purely for session management and authentication security. We do not use analytical or tracking cookies.

Additionally, our web servers and reverse proxies inherently generate standard access logs. These logs may contain visitor IP addresses, browser user agents, and request timestamps. This information is kept only temporarily and used exclusively for security, abuse prevention, and infrastructure debugging.

5. Affiliation Disclaimer

NowPlaying is an independent third-party application created to help streamers. We are not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Spotify AB or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. The official Spotify website can be found at spotify.com. "Spotify" and the Spotify logos are registered trademarks of Spotify AB.

6. Data Deletion

You can inherently revoke this application's access to your Spotify account at any time by visiting your Spotify Account Apps page and removing "NowPlaying". If you wish to have your configuration rows permanently deleted visit settings in dashboard, and delete your account. This will remove all of your stored data from our database. Please note that we do not store any of your Spotify listening history, so there is no historical data to delete.

7. Age Restrictions

Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
